The canton of Valais (Wallis) is located in the southwest of Switzerland and borders France and Italy. Valais consists for the most part of high mountains and the Rhone valley is characteristic of this bilingual canton (French and German). Especially in winter Valais attracts many tourists for winter sports, but in the summer there is a lot of golf and walking here and mountains are climbed.
Brig, which is officially part of the municipality of Brig-Glis, has a historic and pleasant center. The Stockalper palace is the eye-catcher of this city, which located at the foot of the famous Simplon Pass attracts many tourists who also want to take a trip on this 2005 meter high connecting road with Italy.
