The canton of Valais (Wallis) is located in the southwest of Switzerland and borders France and Italy. Valais consists for the most part of high mountains and the Rhone valley is characteristic of this bilingual canton (French and German). Especially in winter Valais attracts many tourists for winter sports, but in the summer there is a lot of golf and walking here and mountains are climbed.

Brig, which is officially part of the municipality of Brig-Glis, has a historic and pleasant center. The Stockalper palace is the eye-catcher of this city, which located at the foot of the famous Simplon Pass attracts many tourists who also want to take a trip on this 2005 meter high connecting road with Italy.

The Simplon Pass with a height of 2005 meters is a connecting road between Switzerland and Italy and is rightly one of the best mountain passes in the Alps. This wide route is passable even in winter. Napoleon once had the pass reinforced for his artillery, but the Simplon Pass was and is of particular importance as a trade route.
