The completely Italian-speaking canton of Ticino (in German, French and Retro-Romance Tessin) is located in the south of Switzerland. Most of Lago di Lugano and the northernmost part of Lago Maggiore is located in this canton. The Alps lie to the north. Most tourism takes place around the aforementioned lakes, but this area also has enough attractions outside, such as the capital Bellinzona.
Camper route along mountain lakes
From the Italian Porlezza on Lago di Lugano we drove along the north side of this lake and crossed through Lugano to Lago di Locarno to finally arrive in Cannobio, Italy. The route is characterized by many tunnels and galleries on the banks of the lakes.
The route is easy to drive for all campers.
