South Holland is the most populous and most industrialized province in the Netherlands and almost even in the world. Rotterdam is one of the largest ports in the world and our government is based in The Hague. But there is not only politics and industry in this province! Apart from the dunes, the province is almost flat. The Randstad is the urban area, but there are also open landscapes, such as the Green Heart and the South Holland islands, such as Goeree-Overflakkee with its Brouwersdam and Haringvlietdam.
The city that is most closely linked to Dutch history is Delft. And she also owes her fame to the Technical University and Delft Blue. Delft is also Freiberg's partner city in Saxony, Germany (see the relevant page).
