The Kingdom of Sweden is one of the most prosperous countries in the world. It is the largest country in Scandinavia and consists largely of coniferous forests. The south and east has a rolling landscape that turns north into the Scandinavian Highlands. Typical of Sweden are the numerous lakes with which the country is dotted. And in the east there are about 24,000 islands in the archipelago. In short, a water-rich country that has its warm season between May and September.
Sweden as a camper country
In Sweden it is allowed to camp freely in nature and along the road. This is allowed for a maximum of 24 hours in regular parking spaces. Please note, because sometimes there may be restrictions for overnight stays in the countryside per province.
> Larger cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Lund have environmental zones.
> Diesel is not available at many self-refueling stations.
> There is a lot of wildlife in Sweden. Therefore take the warning signs for crossing elk seriously!
> Minimum dipped beams are always mandatory.
> The ACSSI card is not accepted. Instead, a Camping Key Europe (CKE) must be purchased. Purchase in the own country before departure is the cheapest.
Sweden as a motor country
As in other Scandinavian countries, action is taken against fast riders in Sweden. The maximum speed on highways is 120 km / h.
